It was one of the first TVs EMHS purchased that came with remotes, so no one was really used to them yet - one reason Mr. Horst didn't catch on right away. He just happened to be around when they were unpacking the TV and he confiscated the remote. I think this happened several evenings over a period of a week or two before Mr. Horst saw him.
